Important note
This page is a summary of the expected storage agreement terms for Equerry 55.
The final signed agreement, insurance wording, liability limits, declared value terms and high value vehicle requirements will be confirmed in writing before storage begins.
Written acceptance
A vehicle is accepted for storage only after Equerry 55 has reviewed the enquiry and confirmed acceptance in writing.
Submitting an enquiry, arranging a viewing or discussing storage does not automatically create a storage agreement.
Owner details
The owner or authorised representative must provide accurate contact details before storage begins.
This may include name, address, email address, telephone number and billing details.
Vehicle details
The owner must provide accurate vehicle details.
This may include make, model, registration, VIN if required, mileage, declared value, fuel type, MOT status, tax status, insurance status, known faults, alarm or immobiliser information and any special handling requirements.
Declared value
Every vehicle must have a declared value recorded before storage begins.
Standard storage acceptance is based on vehicles up to one hundred thousand pounds declared value unless agreed otherwise in writing.
Vehicles above one hundred thousand pounds declared value must be declared before storage is accepted.
High value vehicles may require written approval, additional insurance arrangement or additional premium before storage begins.
Owner insurance
Owners must maintain comprehensive insurance for the full market value of the vehicle at all times while the vehicle is stored with Equerry 55.
Owners should confirm with their own insurer that the vehicle is covered while stored at a specialist vehicle storage facility.
Proof of insurance may be requested before storage begins and during the storage term.
Equerry 55 insurance
Equerry 55 maintains specialist motor trade insurance for vehicles in our care, custody and control, subject to policy terms, exclusions, declared value and the storage agreement.
Insurance limits, claim process, excluded risks and owner responsibilities will be set out in the final storage agreement.
Liability limits
Liability limits will be confirmed in the signed storage agreement.
Liability may be limited by declared value, insurance terms, policy exclusions, owner insurance requirements and the agreed storage terms.
Nothing in the storage agreement excludes liability where it cannot legally be excluded.
Storage plans
Equerry 55 offers storage plans including The Stable and The Keep.
The plan selected will determine the included storage services.
Additional concierge services, transport, MOT support, servicing, detailing, road testing, storage preparation, recommissioning, supplier work and third party costs are quoted separately.
Minimum term
The minimum storage term is three months unless agreed otherwise in writing.
The start date, payment date, notice period and any renewal terms will be confirmed before storage begins.
Payment
Storage fees are payable monthly unless agreed otherwise in writing.
Prices may be shown excluding VAT.
Late payment may affect access, collection, continuation of storage or release of the vehicle, subject to the storage agreement.
Vehicle check in
Every vehicle accepted for storage will go through a check in process.
This may include condition photographs, mileage record, visual inspection, key record, battery condition notes, tyre pressure notes, declared value record and storage plan confirmation.
Condition photographs
Equerry 55 may photograph the vehicle on arrival, during check in, during storage related work and before collection.
Condition photographs are used for storage administration, security records, insurance records and dispute prevention.
Vehicle photographs are not used for marketing without permission.
Keys and documents
Keys are not left inside stored vehicles.
Keys and vehicle documents may be held separately from the main storage area.
The owner must provide all keys, alarm instructions, immobiliser instructions, battery conditioner access information and special starting instructions where required.
Access by appointment
Facility access, vehicle viewing, drop off, collection and vehicle access are by appointment only.
Access is controlled for privacy, security and operational reasons.
Battery conditioning
Vehicles may be connected to battery conditioners where suitable and where the vehicle allows.
Equerry 55 is not responsible for pre existing battery weakness, battery failure, electrical faults or charging issues caused by vehicle condition.
Tyres and movement
Tyre pressure checks, TyreDox support and movement procedures depend on the selected storage plan.
The Keep includes additional active care such as TyreDox support, drip tray monitoring and scheduled mechanical exercise.
Mechanical exercise
Where included in the storage plan, scheduled mechanical exercise may include engine run cycles to operating temperature every sixty days, with brake release and binding checks during scheduled movement.
Road testing is arranged only by prior agreement as a quoted concierge service.
Fuel and fluids
Fuel preparation, fuel stabiliser guidance, oil and filter service, brake fluid moisture testing, brake fluid flush coordination, coolant checks and recommissioning services may be arranged through Concierge Management.
These services are quoted separately unless included in writing.
Existing faults
Owners must disclose known faults, leaks, battery issues, alarm faults, starting problems, brake problems, tyre issues, fluid leaks, electrical faults and mechanical issues before storage begins.
Equerry 55 is not responsible for deterioration or failure caused by pre existing vehicle condition, hidden defects, age, wear, corrosion, lack of maintenance or inaccurate owner supplied information.
Concierge services
Equerry 55 may help coordinate services such as transport, MOT support, servicing, detailing, paint protection, storage preparation, recommissioning, photography, sale preparation, event preparation or specialist supplier work.
All external movement, road use, supplier work, specialist services, logistics and third party costs are quoted before work starts and invoiced separately.
Third party suppliers
Third party suppliers remain responsible for the work they carry out.
Equerry 55 may coordinate supplier work as a concierge service, but supplier terms, warranties, labour, parts, workmanship, delays and costs remain the responsibility of the supplier and owner as applicable.
Transport
Collection and delivery can be arranged across Essex, London and the South East as a quoted concierge service.
Transport costs, insurance position, route, timing and responsibility will be confirmed before transport begins.
Road use
Road use is arranged only by prior agreement.
This may include MOT support, servicing movement, road testing, event preparation or recommissioning.
Road use may require owner approval, insurance confirmation, valid MOT where required and written agreement.
Vehicle release
A vehicle will only be released to the owner or authorised representative.
Equerry 55 may require proof of identity, appointment confirmation, account settlement and signed release before the vehicle leaves storage.
Notice and termination
Notice period, termination rights and storage end date will be confirmed in the signed agreement.
The owner must arrange collection or continued storage before the agreed end date.
Excluded risks
The storage agreement may exclude or limit responsibility for matters such as pre existing defects, mechanical failure, electrical failure, battery failure, tyre ageing, fluid deterioration, corrosion already present, hidden faults, owner supplied information errors, uninsured losses, loss of market value, indirect losses, third party supplier issues and events outside reasonable control.
Owner responsibilities
The owner is responsible for maintaining insurance, providing accurate vehicle information, disclosing faults, paying fees on time, confirming service instructions, approving third party costs, providing keys and instructions, and collecting the vehicle by appointment.
Claims process
Any claim, damage concern or condition dispute must be reported as soon as possible.
Condition photographs, check in records, access records, storage notes, insurance requirements and the storage agreement will be used when reviewing any claim.
Final agreement
This page provides a summary of expected storage terms.
The final storage agreement will be issued before a vehicle is accepted into storage.
The signed storage agreement will take priority over this website summary.
