Luxury Car Storage
Equerry 55 is private luxury car storage at a single facility in Essex, serving owners across London and the UK. One building, one controlled environment, a documented check in for every car, from £250 plus VAT per month.

Storage is part of the car’s maintenance
A car does not stop ageing because the mileage stops increasing.
For vehicles kept over long periods, storage becomes part of their maintenance history. The objective is not simply to keep the car indoors. It is to preserve its condition, mechanical integrity and readiness through the time it is not being driven.
That is the standard Equerry 55 is built around.
A car should leave storage without the storage itself having become the cause of avoidable deterioration.
What is included

- Winter temperature around 10–12°C
- Battery conditioning
- Breathable indoor cover
- Condition photographs, mileage, tyre pressures and fluid levels recorded at check in
- Vehicle keys stored separately
- Access by appointment
- Scheduled ongoing care on The Keep
What standing still does, and what we do about it
Battery
Parts of a modern car keep drawing current with the ignition off, and several manufacturers sell their own conditioning equipment for precisely this situation. Conditioning included on every car at both plan levels, matched to the car, status checked weekly on The Keep.
Tyres
A standing car loads the same patch of each tyre continuously. The right storage pressure is the one that car’s manufacturer specifies, which is not always higher than normal. Set to the specified figure at check in, TyreDox support on The Keep, monthly checks, reset for the road before collection.
Brakes
Pads left clamped against a disc for months can bond to it, and a light film of surface corrosion after damp conditions is not unusual. Parking brake handled according to the vehicle’s requirements, with brake binding checked during scheduled mechanical exercise on The Keep.
Fluids
Brake fluid absorbs moisture over time, and coolant, oil and fuel age whether the car moves or not. Levels recorded at check in, monthly visual fluid and leak checks on The Keep, drip tray under the car and checked weekly.
Fuel
Ethanol blended petrol can absorb water, and phase separation can occur if enough water enters the fuel. The fuel strategy is agreed before arrival according to the car, the storage period and its manufacturer guidance.
Paint and film
Soft paint, paint protection film and ceramic coatings mark if something abrasive sits against them. A breathable indoor cover on every car, over a clean surface.
Interior
Leather, Alcantara, suede and wood all behave differently, but all do better in a clean, stable environment than in prolonged damp, large temperature swings and contamination. Humidity targeted at approximately 55 percent RH, winter temperature around ten to twelve degrees Celsius, indoors.
Records
Condition photos, mileage, pressures and fluids recorded at check in, and the vehicle file updated after scheduled care checks on The Keep.
“In the beginning I looked around and could not find quite the car I dreamed of, so I decided to build it myself.”
Same reason this exists. Nowhere kept cars the way we wanted our own kept, so we built it.
What happens when the car arrives
Recorded in
Condition photographs, mileage, tyre pressures and fluid levels, before the car goes anywhere.
Prepared for storage
Prepared for indoor storage according to the vehicle’s requirements and any relevant manufacturer restrictions.
Set up to stand
Breathable cover over a clean car, battery conditioner connected, keys kept away from the vehicle.
Checked on schedule
On The Keep, weekly conditioner and drip tray checks, monthly pressures and fluids, engine run to temperature every sixty days.
Handed back
Condition and fluids checked, pressures set for the road, and the car ready to drive when you collect it.
Where the other pages go further
This page covers what applies to any well-appointed, high-value car. Three subjects go beyond it and have pages of their own.
Where a manufacturer publishes its own storage procedure, and some are very specific, that is followed rather than overridden. Supercar storage sets out how, using a published example in full.
The humidity and temperature figures, and what happens either side of them, are on climate controlled car storage. The site, the access arrangements and who can reach a car are on secure car storage. For older cars specifically, classic car storage covers what changes.
Leaving the car for longer periods
Battery conditioning is included on every car. On The Keep, longer stays also include TyreDox support, a drip tray, weekly conditioner and drip-tray checks, monthly tyre-pressure and visual fluid/leak checks, and an engine run to operating temperature every sixty days.
The minimum term is three months. For storage measured in years, the long-term car storage page covers longer periods, and winter car storage covers seasonal storage.
